AI is a powerful new technology and a fantastic tool. Like anything of the sort, it relies on us to think critically about the results it provides.
AI simulates conversation and recognizes patterns; it doesn’t understand context or truth in the way a human does.
This technology is evolving very quickly: What is true today might not be true tomorrow. Here is a glimpse into what is AI at this very moment.
AI is the abbreviation for Artificial Intelligence.
Artificial Intelligence is a technology that imitates human intelligence. It allows computers to perform tasks such as learning, reasoning and decision-making.

Moments in the video:
AI has been around for quite some time.To name just a few examples:
It suggests what show to watch next.
It autocorrects what you write.
It recognizes your face and opens your devices.
And so much more!
Here are some highlights of AI history.

There is a difference.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is a very broad field of computer science. IIt includes different types of AI with different uses.
Generative AI (GenAI) is a specialized type of AI. It is used to generate content like text, images or videos.

It may sometimes feel like AI is acting just like a human. The reality is AI is a computer system.
It can perform tasks by following a set of rules and instructions. This is what we call algorithms.
AI imitates what the human brain does, but it doesn't have a human brain!
Here are some examples of AI misconceptions you may have heard.

Always double-check the results you get
AI, especially chatbots like Chat-GPT, are made to sound convincing, to sound like experts. That does not mean they are accurate.
It is even easier to fall for it when asking about topics we are struggling with. Make sure to double-check!
Is it a good idea to use AI for homework?
The reason you have homework is to complete work done in class or to practice certain skills. Using AI can be helpful in some instances, but using it to do the work for you? That’s just like copying the answer from someone else.
For example, if you use it wisely, AI can assist you in:
Understanding a difficult concept
Creating a study plan
Brainstorming ideas
Always ask your teacher before using AI and be honest about the ways you intend to use it.
