The alphabet in lowercase and uppercase letters.

Vowels are indicated in blue letters.
Consonants are indicated in black letters.

The letter Y is technically a vowel, but is used as both a vowel (oddly) and a consonant (yikes) when it starts off a word or syllable.

The smaller letters are called lowercase letters. Words are mostly made of lowercase letters.

The larger letters are called uppercase letters or capital letters. They are used for names (like Lucy or London) and the start of sentences.
