School Subject Branches

  • arithmetic
    Branch of math that studies basic operations on numbers: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • algebra
    Branch of math that studies basic operations on unknown or variable quantities.
  • geometry
    Branch of math that studies the measurements of the Earth as well as the properties of objects: shape, size, position and orientation.
  • calculus
    Branch of math that studies how things change over time and space.
  • statistics
    Branch of math that studies data by focusing on its collection, organization, analysis and interpretation.
  • ecology
    Branch of science that studies how living things interact with each other and their environment.
  • geology
    Branch of science that studies the composition of the Earth, including rocks and the processes that have shaped it over time.
  • environmental science
    Branch of science that seeks solutions to environmental problems such as climate change.
  • philosophy
    Study of fundamental concepts like existence, truth, fact, knowledge, wisdom, reason, etc. It is at the core of all the sciences.
  • civics
    Study of citizenship, government, and the rights and responsibilities of people in a country or community.

    Learning to write code, computer programming.
  • career education
    Exploration of different jobs and career paths.
  • shop class
    Learning how to work with tools and materials to build or fix things.
  • home economics
    Learning practical skills for everyday life, such as cooking, budgeting, sewing.
