    Good evening!

In fact, in the 17th century, the Company of One Hundred Associates had the mandate to populate New France in exchange for obtaining the monopoly of the fur trade. This company was to install 4000 settlers in the colony and it had 15 years to do so. At the same time, France and England are waging war in both Europe and America. This war had the effect of weakening the company of the Hundred Associates and led to the failure of the settlement of New France.

    Hope that answers your question!
