Constructing Polygons

Each type of polygon can be drawn by following specific steps. In order to construct polygons, it is important to know how to use various geometric instruments.

Polygons are geometric figures, where all the points are located on the same plane. They are two-dimensional figures.

These are the main geometric instruments used to construct polygons:

• ruler: A tool used to draw straight lines and measure distances;

• set Square: A tool shaped like a right triangle, useful for drawing perpendicular lines;

• compass : A tool used to draw circles, measure angles, and plot lengths;

• protractor: A tool used for measuring angles in degrees.
