An adverb of manner explains how something happened.
A lot of adverbs made from adjectives by adding -ly fall into this category. Here are some examples of adverbs of manner:

Adverbs of manner are usually placed after the main verb. It is placed before the main verb only when the object of the sentence is very long or when the adverb isn’t the most important part of the sentence.
