Colours

In English, adjectives come before the noun. This is true for colours as well. 

adjective + noun

The blue shoes are on the floor. 
The yellow lemon is very sour.

When using intensity markers for colours, intensity markers are placed before the colour.

Intensity + adjective + noun

The light green tree is flowering.
I like using dark red paint.
