    Hello,

    I received an answer to my question, and I'd like to know if I corrected it. Is my point of view clear now?

    Thank you for your help, I appreciate it :)

    The text:

    In this novel, the theme of identity is explored through the different social classes: the Socs, and the Greasers. This novel has many important messages. When Greasers come to mind, people often associate them with being violent troublemakers.On the other hand, when they think about Socs, they imagine wealthy bullies who love starting fights.Firstly, Ponyboy, a Greaser, realizes that one should not judge someone based on their external appearance. For example, at the novel's beginning, Ponyboy wishes his eyes were more gray than green because he hates most guys with green eyes. However, the more the story progresses, his perspective changes. He mentions on page 130 that he realized that Cherry, who is a Soc, has green eyes. This example makes it clear to him that they are the same even under those given labels. Even though Greasers and Socs don't get along, Ponyboy starts to have mixed feelings about Cherry. He doesn't just see her as a Soc, but as a person with her problems and feelings, even though they're from different groups.

    Secondly, being street-smart and intelligent sets Ponyboy apart from the rest of the gang. Ponyboy is still in school and gets amazing grades, he enjoys reading and writing poems, unlike his brother, Sodapop, so he has a better chance of having a successful life. Also, most of the Greasers don’t do well in school. However, on page 13, after Ponyboy's accident, Darry is mad at him for not using his common sense and always putting himself in trouble. For example, unlike Ponyboy, Dallas is street-smart. He carries an unloaded gun to foul the cops. This explains how the gang members are all different. Identity and societal labels are examined through the characters' experiences.

    Pourriez-vous m'aider, SVP ?

    J'ai un oral à faire bientôt. Je ne suis pas très bonne en anglais, surtout à l'oral, donc il y a un fort probable que je pourrais échouer.

    J'ai plusieurs problèmes :

    — J'oublie tout ce que je veux dire quand tout le monde me regarde droit dans les yeux;

    — Je stress tellement que j'ai des problèmes à parler normalement, donc cela me fait perdre des points ;

    — Aussi, l'oral n'est pas avec un support visuel ! ! ! ! !

    Svp, dites-moi qu'est ce que je dois faire!

    Merci!

    Bonsoir,

    Pourriez-vous m'aider, SVP ?

    En fait, j'ai beaucoup de problèmes avec la compétence de l'interaction orale en anglais. Je suis trop timide quand je parle en anglais et en plus, ça fait moins de 1 an et demi que je parle cette langue. Par conséquent, la prof m'enlève des points pour cette compétence et mes notes deviennent de plus en plus pires. Je suis allée parler au prof, mais elle m'a dit que tu dois écouter plus de vidéos en anglais, des films, etc… Pourtant, c'est ce que je fais, mais du coup, je n'arrive guère à m'améliorer.

    Dites-moi svp, qu'est ce que je doit faire!

    Hello,

    I sent an email yesterday to see if my text was correct and received this comment: Maybe try to explain them a little bit more ?

    I'd like to make sure that I corrected this mistake.

    Thank youDiscuss the message of this novel on the theme of hope. Give 2-3 specific examples from the text that support your views:

    The novel delves into the theme of hope, where we witness a change in Ponyboy's behaviour after his friend Johnny's death. Firstly, he doesn’t care about school anymore, he gets bad grades, but he still finds solace in reading. On page 178, he decides to read ‘’Gone with the Wind’’, and at the book's opening, a letter written by Johnny falls. At the end of the letter, he explains to him what ‘’stay gold’’ means. It becomes a symbol of hope and motivation for Ponyboy to look forward to a better future, even when the circumstances aren't great. Secondly, the sunsets are also used as a sign of hope to close the gap between the Greasers and the Socs. For example, on page 40, Ponyboy realizes that both of these groups have different lifestyles, but they watch the same sunset. The sunset is used as a reminder that there is still beauty in the world. The sunset reminds them that despite the problems around them there is still a chance for peace. It explains that differences can be a good thing and that hope can overcome hate.

    Hello,

    I sent an email yesterday to see if my text was correct and received this comment: I would maybe try to rewrite the sentence Firstly, do not judge [...]. You should try to voice it in a way that it wouldn't seem like your thoughts, by linking it to an idea from the book. It needs to be more precise (tip: it should not apply to every book).

    But I don't understand how I'm supposed to modify the phrase to not make it seem like my thoughts. The teacher told me to link it to an example but I'm already explaining another example related to that thought.

    Thank you (the book is The Outsiders)Part of the text:Firstly, do not judge someone based on their external appearance. Also, if you see any mistakes, have any recommendations or think my examples aren't well developed, please tell me (I don't want to repeat the same mistake as last time)

    Hello,

    I sent an email yesterday to see if my text was correct and received this comment: The only small piece of advice I can give you is to ensure that the ideas are well connected. For example, when you say « for example, Dallas is street smart», it's not clear what you are trying to illustrate.

    I'd like to make sure that I corrected this mistake.

    Also, if you see any mistakes, have any comments to make my text better or think I didn't develop my examples enough, please tell me (I made those mistakes last time)
